Remember?

It has been so hot here in Montego Bay, Ocean City, Maryland that I thought I would remind you of the past winter. Notice how barren and devoid of habitat our pond was. What a pity to destroy a habitat!

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR

http://www.albany.edu/natweb/fsducks.html
You must check out the above website. As a duck flies Albany really isn't that far away from Montego
Bay, Ocean City, Maryland, therefore those ducks that had my attention
today may have just stopped here for a bit of relaxation.hehehe! "What
happens in Walkers Pond, Stays in Walkers Pond". I thought they were
fighting or deciding who would be the alpha duck...I was wrong. Read
that article because it is very interesting. That is exactly what I was
watching!
The pond has been sitting quietly with only a few resident
waterfowl, today changed all that. They were all here today, from Heron
to Mallard. You should have been here.

TESTING NEW BLOG FORMAT

I'm taking the new Blogger Beta for a test run today and choose the picture because it was sunny with beautiful clouds….not like today.
This past week Jasper met with Sam our park man about the bay pump. I have been assured by Jasper that everything concerning that pump will be in proper working order by spring. The building of the housing for the pump is critical to its functioning properly. The pump that it will be replacing is the original and has been in the water for around 18 years. It actually had barnacles inside. No wonder it didn't work. Thanks to Charlie Herbert the hoist for the new pump is already in place, which means that the new one will have regular maintenance and will not have to stay in the water all winter. YAY! For the good guys!
